When installing an RV vent fan, most customers expect a clean fit with a flush interior trim finish. But sometimes, RVs with very thin roofs create an unexpected problem:
- After inserting the vent fan into the roof vent opening, a large section of the white fan frame sticks out inside the RV.
- In this case, the RV vent trim ring cannot be installed properly, leaving the ceiling looking unfinished.
So what can you do if your RV roof is thinner than standard and your vent fan doesn’t sit right?
Solution: Add an RV AC Gasket
EcoSynic RV AC Gasket is not only designed for A/C sealing — it can also be used as a spacer when your RV roof is too thin. By placing the gasket between the vent fan and the RV rooftop opening, you can:
- Increase the installation height, so the vent fan frame no longer protrudes awkwardly.
- Achieve a better fit, allowing you to install the RV vent trim securely.
- Improve sealing, reducing vibration and preventing unwanted air or water leaks.
How to Install?
Step 1: Apply double-sided tape to the black side of the RV A/C gasket. Press the black side firmly along the 14” x 14” edge of your vent fan.
Step 2: Once secured, peel off the protective film from the white side of the gasket.
Step 3: Insert the vent fan into the RV roof opening, then continue with the fan’s standard installation steps.
👉 This RV A/C gasket is designed for 14” x 14” RV vent fans.
If your RV fan has a different size, no worries—you can use our 14” x 14” or 11” x 14” RV A/C gasket and DIY it into 4 strips. Then follow the same three steps above for installation.
